Chateau Carbonnieux 2018 Pessac-Leognan Grand Cru Classe Blanc

Short Description

Despite a dry and hot climate this year, the wine presents a very nice lemony freshness brought by the Sauvignon, while the Semillon gives it a nice fullness.

To associate with any raw or cooked fish, crustaceans, shellfish, foie gras, any poultry or white meat, veal sweetbreads, dish with spices (curry, tagine ...), cheeses, fruit dessert or sorbet.

It is a Graves wine classified Pessac-Léognan, that comes in white and red.

Château Carbonnieux, planted on a cray-limestone soil, a perfect quality to give birth to the best white wines, was built around 1380 and the Graves vineyard spreads on a surface area of 180 hectares.

Grape varieties : reds : 60% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 30% Merlot Noir, 8% Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Côt Malbec  2%. Whites : Sauvignon 65%, Sémillon 35%.

The entire harvest is done by hand and the white wine is mature for 30% in new barrels for 10 months for white, and 18 months for red.

Château Carbonnieux’s white wines are lively, elegant, dry, and distinguished.

Red wines are full of sap, well-built, with a very generous bouquet.
