Chateau Carbonnieux 2016 Pessac-Leognan Grand Cru
Short Description
Vintages that are both exceptional in quality and generous in volume are very rare, 2016 is one of them.
The result of precise daily work combined with a weather full of good surprises, 2016 allowed us to have a good harvest with, in addition, grapes of remarkable quality.
It is a Graves wine classified Pessac-Léognan, that comes in white and red.
Château Carbonnieux, planted on a cray-limestone soil, a perfect quality to give birth to the best white wines, was built around 1380 and the Graves vineyard spreads on a surface area of 180 hectares.
Grape varieties : reds : 60% Cabernet-Sauvignon, 30% Merlot Noir, 8% Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and Côt Malbec 2%. Whites : Sauvignon 65%, Sémillon 35%.
The entire harvest is done by hand and the white wine is mature for 30% in new barrels for 10 months for white, and 18 months for red.
Château Carbonnieux’s white wines are lively, elegant, dry, and distinguished.
Red wines are full of sap, well-built, with a very generous bouquet.
