Short Description

The Clos de Capelune of 12 hectares has been acquired in 2012 and seems to be planted near the sky. Some vine plants are situated at the highest level above the sea compare to others in the Côtes de Provence (449 m).

Its Syrah, Grenache, Cabernet Sauvignon, Mourvedre and Rolle grapes are growing with remarkable fineness. A special Cuvee in a very elegant bottle signed by Chateau Saint-Maur.

Limpid salmon color.

Palate: fresh and elegant, complex aromatic flavors.

Fits perfectly with a sauced rabbit or seafood risotto.

Located in Cogolin, in the middle of a natural setting, Château Saint-Maur, classified Cru, is anchored in Provence’s and its wine’s history. 10 km to Saint-Tropez, west of the plain that connects the slopes of the Maures Massif to the sea, the estate can be proud of its splendid building built in the end of the 19th century, in a style reminding Moorish Spain’s, with elements from the 18th century. At its foot, its narrow houses then the vines, covering the hillsides between scrublands and cork oaks.

The vineyard is managed by a family of winegrowers, whose origins can be found in the Douro valley in Portugal, where it still exercises its talents.

It is a 34 hectares vineyards, with a chalky mica and schist soil that benefits from a wonderful south-east exposure, thus getting maximum sunlight for the longest time, two traits that make these wines outstanding.

It is a classified Cru belonging to the elitist list of 18 classified Crus from the Côtes de Provence, right at the top of the 320 vineyards with this designation.
