Curry gets its popular yellow colour from the turmeric spice. In India, it is well known for its myriad of medicinal properties. It is only recently that science has started to confirm the information which Indians have known about for thousands of years. In fact, the main ingredient in turmeric, which is called curcumin, has been found to be a powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Although it does not contain high levels, this ingredient still promotes healthy minds and bodies.

It can suppress many molecules known to play major roles in inflammation, which contributes  to many diseases. It is beneficial to heart health since it significantly improves the effects on heart disease. As a result of its anti-inflammatory it may improve symptoms of depression and arthritis. Fortunately, studies have proven that curcumin found in turmeric helps to clear amyloid plaques that buildup and cause Alzheimer's disease. Turmeric for Beauty

Anti-inflammatory- Thanks to its anti-inflammatory and antibacterial benefits, turmeric works wonders on the skin. It helps in reducing redness that is caused by blemishes, thus calming skin conditions like eczema and rosacea. Fight off acne - It is excellent for acne because it is a natural antiseptic and helps to keep bacteria from spreading. Reduces dark circles - Courtney Chiusano, founder of the Courtney Chiusano Skincare in Los Angeles actually states that “Since turmeric is a proven anti-inflammatory and lightening agent, it’s perfect for alleviating this kind of concern." She further states that it can stimulate circulation in the skin that may reduce puffiness and under-eye darkness.  Limits the appearance of stretch marks - Turmeric has the antioxidative powers. These help to improve the function of skin cells that can help prevent and treat stretch marks. Experts recommend making your own stretch mark paste with a combination of a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil, a teaspoon of turmeric and the juice from a wedge of a lemon. Rub this mixture onto the affected areas at least twice a day. Soothe dry skin - It can deeply hydrate skin while keeping dryness at bay and expedite the process of clearing the skin of dead cells. This in turn reveals healthy soft skin, and protects the skin cells from further damage.
