Dudognon Folle Blanche Cognac Grande Champagne
Short Description
It is a cognac of great champagne, classified Premier Cru, a terroir remarkable for its white limestone soils conducive to the birth of exceptional wines for an optimal double heating distillation.
A small part of the vineyard is planted with Folle Blanche, a variety abandoned during the Phylloxera crisis but recently reintroduced. This grape variety has the particularity of giving very flowery and airy cognacs accompanied by fine flavors on candied fruits such as plum d'Ente or plum d'Alsace.
Very long finish on the palate with hints of cinnamon and nutmeg.
To be enjoyed neat or with a plain or citrus-flavored schweppes or even on diced ice.
The Dudognon family is based in Lignères-Sonneville, a village among the most prestigious but few villages of the Grande Champagne de Cognac, classified Premier Cru of the delimited appellation area of the Cognac region. The wine-growing property called Le Davore, occupied by this family since 1776, is nestled a little away from the village while the vineyard for the most part is on a very limestone hillock, a guarantee of very high quality for the wines harvested. and distilled on this very recognized terroir.
The vineyard covers a dozen hectares harvested with care and in stages depending on the grape varieties used and their state of ripening at the time of the harvest: the Ugni Blanc in majority, Folle Blanche and Montils.
The wines collected will be distilled and the cognacs will then age for several years, some of which, the oldest, for more than 75 years.
Cognacs often rewarded for their qualities and reliable values:
Gold medal in 1898, then in 1990 renewed in 1998, a century later.
