Short Description
Cassava/manioc flour. Gari is a very popular food product in Africa and South America where it is called manioc flour (or farinha de mandioca). It is made of cassava tubers. The tubers are grated into fine fiber and allowed to ferment. The fermented product is then roasted to give the finished grain. Gari is well known for its very long shelf life of over two years. Uses: Gari can be used in a simple form as a cereal. You may add water, milk, and sugar to it in a bowl. Gari can also be used as a side dish. It is cooked with water and eaten with stew (such as egusi stew) or peanut butter soup. Made in the USA.
