All natural. Gluten free. Directions What you'll need: (For beets featured on front) . 1 1/2 pounds red or yellow beets. 2 onions, thinly sliced. 2 cups cider vinegar. 1 cup water. 4 one-pint jars. (Sterilized according to manufacturer's instructions). Makes 4 pt. Directions:First: simmer beets in saucepan of water until tender, about 25-30 minutes. Drain, cool, and peel. Cut beets into 1/4 slices and divide among jars, alternating with onions. Next: over medium heat, combine vinegar, water, and spices, bring to a boil, and stir until dissolved. Ladle hot liquid into jars, making sure to evenly distribute cloves, and leave 1/2 inch space from rim of jar. Seal tightly with lids. Last: quick pickles: allow beets to cool, refrigerate, and enjoy for up to 10 days. Shelf stable pickles: for up to one year shelf life, process jars in boiling water for 30 minutes* making sure to adjust for higher altitudes. Jars should be tightly sealed according to manufacturers directions. For best flavor, allow beets to sit for 24 hours before serving, chill, and enjoy!*Increase processing time 5 minutes for 1,001 - 3,000 ft., 10 minutes for 3001 - 6000 ft. and 15 minutes for 6,001 - 8,000 ft., and 20 minutes for 8,001 - 10,000 ft.Long Description
