Hand cooked. No trans-fatty acids. Our LantChips Scandinavian style potato chips have been sold in Europe for many years. They are some of the best chips made over there. Thick cut, with a rich taste of potato, and a distinct flavour, influenced by one of the traditional Scandinavian ways of eating the potato, cut into course strips, fried in butter and eaten with lingonberry and also sour cream. A delicacy now, but long viewed as the poor man's food. The potato was single-mindedly introduced to Scandinavia by the Swede Jonas Alstromer around 1730. It came from South America. Not particularly successful in reaching his goal his lifetime, he could nor dream of the impact of the potato during the past two centuries, when the potato literally fed Europe, having gradually replaced cabbage as staple food. We enjoy potatoes in its different ways of preparation and seasoning. We believe in eating good, enjoyable food. In eating moderately, but only the best. We are a small team of devoted craftsmen and cooks preparing the potato chips for you, only 12 to 14 pounds per batch, slowly cooking in low temperature to get a thick cut, hard bite chip. We believe in using the best vegetable oils and ingredients. You will find that the colour of the chips vary with the time of year, because we do not blanch the potato slices. Should you find the occasional imperfection in a chip, please do not mind. We cook good, healthy potatoes, striving for taste, rather than just the perfect look.
