Long Description
Tequila, the national drink of the Mexicans, is produced according to the strict laws of the Mexican government exclusively from the heart of a special kind of agave, the blue agave "Tequilana Weber". Only a distillate made from this special type of agave, which comes from the precisely defined cultivation area, the province of Jalisco, may bear the "Tequila" designation of origin. In 1500 to over 2000 meters above sea level around Guadalajara, the capital of the province of Jalisco and therefore the capital of tequila, grows this agave from which tequila is made.
Only 8-10 years after cultivation the high-quality blue agave plants are ripe and can be harvested. The hearts are distilled twice in the typical copper kettles (alambiques) according to traditional methods (pot still method). Origin and production are strictly monitored by the Consejo Regulador del Tequila A.C.
