Salus - Organic Acerola JuiceNatural acerola juice, pressed from fresh organic plants. Contains no alcohol, preservatives or additives.Acerola or Malpighia emarginata is an evergreen shrub or small tree which grows in the tropics whose other names include Barbados cherry, West Indian cherry, and wild crepe myrtle. When ripened, its berries do indeed look like cherries, and they are very rich not only in vitamin C, in a form we're much better able to absorb than its usual supplemental form (ascorbic acid) , but also in antioxidants (they have more antioxidant capacity than 10 other tropical fruits, according to one study*). It may also be able to help reduce respiratory allergies: the makers of one natural health product, ClearGuard, found it reduced histamine response, especially in combination with Cinnamon and Spanish Needles.
