In early 1995 we set out to create a reduced fat chip that would maintain the integrity of our classic chip. The chips inside this bag are not fabricated potato chips made from dehydrated potato flakes nor do they contain any bizarre fat substitute. These chips contain only select potatoes from regional potato farms, vegetable oil, and salt. Reduced fat chips are made from fresh sliced potatoes are difficult to make because they require constant supervision throughout the cooking process. A slight variation in cooking time or temperature could cause the chips to become too dry and flavor to be lost. By combining our traditional Kettle-Cook process with flash baking, we've produced a potato chip with the same potato intensity as our classics without altering or sacrificing the purity of the process or ingredients. Our small batch cooking method allows us to give the Reduced Fat chips the individual attention mass production chip companies just can't provide. First, we individually inspect each potato. Then we Kettle-Cook the chips by hand in small batches, allowing us to closely monitor the temperature and cooking time. Next the chips are flash baked to naturally reduce the fat. Lastly, all the chips must pass an additional, final inspection before they're packaged. To ensure every Cape Cod Chip you heat maintains the highest level of quality, each phase of our production is controlled by a human being. Whether it's our Classics - Salted, unsalted, or 40% Reduced Fat, the Golden Russet (Amber color and robust flavor) , or the Dark Russet (Chestnut Color and intense flavor), we promise you've bought a bag of chips with real personality and flavor. The fat content has been reduced from 10 grams for regular potato chips to 6 grams per serving. Made in the U.S.A.
