Basmati RiceBasmati Rice.Saucepan: Bags - 1 - 2. Water (cups) - 1 - 2. Each bag makes about 2 cups. Do not use bag for cooking. 1. Combine water and contents of one bag in medium saucepan and stir. 2. Bring to a boil, reduce heat, cover and simmer 10 minutes or until water is absorbed. 3. Remove from heat. Fluff with fork. (Add butter and salt, if desired). Microwave: Each bag makes about 2 cups. 1. Combine contents of one bag and 1 1/4 cups water in a 2. 5 quart microwave-safe dish and stir. * 2. Cover. Microwave on high for 12 minutes. 3. Remove from microwave and let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with fork. *Add 1/2 teaspoon oil to help prevent boil over, if desired. It is recommended that only 1 bag rice be prepared in the microwave at a time. Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate. Cooking tips: For added flavor, substitute water with broth, fruit juice, or light coconut milk. For a simple dish, stir in: Chutney. Cilantro. Curry powder/paste. Ginger. Garlic. Dried fruit.
