Rated 5 out of 5 by queenie69 My experience with this Taste the Difference coleslaw As a chef, I prefer my making my own coleslaw because I can control the ingredients. As a person who needs to watch my calorie/carbos/fat intake, I have found many coleslaws too mayo-laden. You only taste the mayo and the slaw is mushy. This Taste the Difference coleslaw is so delicious, that once you take a taste, you want to come back for more! Yes, a normal serving is 2 heaped spoonfuls ...................100 grams / 2 heaped spoonfuls ...................238kcal / 179kcal 9.0% Protein ........1.2g / 0.9g 1.8% Carbohydrate 6.0g / 4.5g 1.7% Total Sugars 5.4g / 4.1g 4.6% Fat 22.9g /17.2g My plan was to prepare all of my other salad ingredients (already prepared broccoli / cauliflower in packet; slice & peel cucumbers; slice tomatoes, red & green peppers, and celery) and to arrange a plate of already-prepared lettuce salad with the veggies, a couple of spoonfuls of Sainsburys' beetroot salad, and a sprinkling of that excellent thinly-sliced, oak smoked ham. With those items taking only a few minutes to prepare, my hunger would be satiated in a few moments! My challenge was that I wanted to taste my new coleslaw to see if it needed any spicing up . BIG MISTAKE! I took one bite and found myself enjoying the crunchy texture of the cabbage and the more-ish sauce. The mayo was not too heavy, and there was a nice balance of onion and mustard and NO SUGARY taste! I sat down to change the TV channel with the 300g container and spoon in my hand. The program took my attention away from my food preparation, and before I knew it, I had eaten AND ENJOYED the entire 300g of the coleslaw! The entire package, before I had prepared any of the other elements of my salad meal! My stomach was full! If you are like me, take my advice and prepare the rest of your salad before you open the Coleslaw package! You will be able to enjoy the coleslaw for a few healthier meals, instead of just one meal of coleslaw! Be ye liking fresh veg in a tasty thick rich mayo. Then if ye be answering yes then this be tha colelsaw fer ye, landlubber! I'm not a pirate though and also pirates don't like coleslaw because they are big rum drinkers and also it wasn't invented till muich later. It usually comes with at least 5 days use by. We put it in school sandwiches and it's not too wet as to turn bread soggy.
