Jack Daniel's No. 7 - Tennessee Whiskey
Short Description
The world-famous Tennessee whiskey from Jack Daniel's is best enjoyed on the rocks or as a whiskey-cola. Here in the 37.5cl-bottle.
Long Description
Jasper Newton Daniels is the eponym of this whiskey and is said to have learned the craft of whisky distillation as a small child. Back then, in 1860, at the age of only 14, he took over the distillery where he had worked before. Six years later the company received an official distilling licence. The Old No. 7 or "Jack Daniel's Black Label" is one of the best-selling whiskeys on the planet and of course the brand's flagship. For decades it was also the only whiskey produced in the distillery. From the Sour Mash Bill, which has remained unchanged since its beginnings, made from 80% corn, 12% barley and 8% rye, the famous Tennessee Whiskey is produced. Like all Jack Daniel's products, it is filtered through maple charcoal in the so-called Lincoln Country process before being stored in specially produced oak casks.
Ironically, Old No. 7 is produced in a so-called "Dry County", where the sale of spirits and wine has been prohibited since prohibition - so the shops and restaurants around Lynchburg are not allowed to offer any alcohol except beer. But this did not stop Jack Daniel's from becoming the most popular whiskey brand in the world.
