Ragnaud Sabourin Florilege Cognac Grande Champagne
Short Description
This Cognac was distilled from wines harvested on the very calcareous hillsides of Grande Champagne Premier Cru territories, planted for 60% in Ugni Blanc variety and 40% Folle blanche variety.
Folle Blanche is a grape variety that was very widespread before the phylloxera crisis that destroyed almost the whole vineyard in the 1880s. This vineyard is currently slowly reintroduced.
The colour is a sustained mahogany due to an extended ageing process, solely in red barrels.
The nose is very floral, with notes of white flowers of quince, cherry-tree and pear tree.
To the palate: great persistence and length marked by notes of dried tobacco leaves.
Ragnaud Sabourin: It is in this family house that since 1850 the great traditions of this unique brand have been perpetuated with philosophy.
The successive generations, Gaston Briand and Marcel Ragnaud the ancestor and the founder for the past have exploited this magnificent domain from which is drawn this Cognac exclusively Grande Champagne, Premier Cru of the Cognac region Annie Ragnaud Sabourin accompanied by her son Olivier for the present and the future continue by relying on the ancestral know-how of the family.
