Maison Besserat de Bellofon was created in 1843 in the village of Aÿ by Edmond Besserat.
It has established itself over time thanks to the distribution of its Cuvées to renowned hotels, restaurants and wine merchants.
In 1920, his grandson married Yvonne de Méric de Bellefon, from the Champagne nobility. This alliance seals the beginning of Champagne Besserat de Bellefon and the House acquires the family coat of arms.
The birth of the Cuvée des Moines in 1930 is the starting point for the rise of this House. Designed to meet the challenge of a prestigious Parisian restaurant, the Samaritaine de Luxe; Creating a Champagne that can accompany an entire meal, Victor Besserat produces a Champagne with finesse and a light effervescence.
