Delamotte 2014 Blanc de Blancs Champagne Grand Cru

Short Description

A 100% Chardonnay Champagne from the Côte des Blancs harvested in chalky soils giving the greatest wines.

Blend of several grands crus for effect: Mesnil-sur-Oger (20%), acidity, purity and chalky minerality.

In Avize (20%), balance and structure. In Oger (20%), the warmth, breadth and generosity.

In Cramant, the smoky minerality. In Chouilly, the frame and the length.

Finally in Oiry, acidity and roundness.

Notes of toast, straw and toast followed by a nice citrus attack.

Aromas of exotic fruits and flowers with a hint of brioche.

To be served at around 12 °C with shellfish, sushi, langoustine carpaccio, roast sea bass or even a veal in a casserole dish on a bed of mushrooms.

This Champagne House was created in 1760 in Reims thanks to François Delamotte, the founder, and it was his son Alexandre who bought some time later a house and cellars in Mesnil-sur-Oger, where Delamotte is still settled.

The brand and buildings were then bought in 1927 by Marie-Louise de Nonancourt, and his son Charles managed it from 1948 to 1988.

Then the House was bought in 1988 by Laurent-Perrier and was managed by Bernard de Nonancourt until 2010, date when Alexandra and Stephanie de Nonancourt carried on the family tradition to write this House’s future.
