Tiffon Millesime 1995 Cognac Grande Champagne

Short Description

It is a cognac that comes exclusively from wines harvested and distilled, in 1995, from Grande Champagne, classified Premier Cru of the delimited region of Cognac.

Cognac has aged since that date in French oak barrels.

The color is Cuban mahogany

On the nose and on the palate: an infinite cognac on a variant of many scents and flavors from white spring flowers such as hawthorn through spices (gray and black pepper), cinnamon, nutmeg, candied fruits such as plum d'Ante or the mirabelle plum to finish with a wide range of coffees and mokas.

A tasting on Norwegian cakes or ice cream will be a plus.

It is in Jarnac, the second important town in the cognac region, that the Maison de Cognac Tiffon was founded by Médéric Tiffon in 1875, a little before the Phylloxera crisis. Thirty-eight years later, the granddaughter of Médéric Tiffon, the founder, married Sverre Braastad, a Norwegian who came to work as a sales manager in a competing cognac house where his uncle worked as Financial Director.

It was Sverre Brasstad who gave his name to this House, adding it to the name of the founder. The House is managed today by a third generation descending directly from Sverre Braastad.
