Gosset Célébris Vintage 2007 Extra Brut Champagne
Short Description
It is an extra-brut blended champagne made up of 57% Chardonnay grapes and 43% Pinot Noir grapes, harvested on the greatest terroirs of the Côte des Blancs and the Montagne de Reims. Vinification and traditional aging on lees prevent any oxidation.
It is an excellent wine to keep, aging in the cellar for more than 10 years to reveal its complexity and beautiful structure.
The color is bright pale yellow, fine discreet and regular bubbles.
On the nose and on the palate: nice notes of toasted and smoked bread, delicately combined with hazelnuts. Nice tension on the palate, a racy champagne with a nice freshness accompanied by a bouquet of brioche notes. Aromas of pink grapefruit on the finish, enhancing the elegant acidity of Chardonnay.
Food / wine pairing: serve around 10 ° C but not less so as not to dry up the rich complexity of this exceptional champagne. It will go perfectly with lobster, oysters from Marennes, grilled sole a la plancha, veal grenadine or even chicken with lemongrass.
In 1584, Pierre Gosset, who was then Alderman of Aÿ and winemaker, produced still wines, often red, with the harvest of his own vines in Aÿ. It is for this reason that this House is the oldest Champagne House.
At that time, the wines of A like the wines of Burgundy were competing for the place at the table of the Kings of France. Both were made from Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
Later, in the 18th century, only Aÿ wine, called Champagne at the end of the 19th century, became effervescent.
