JL Giguiere Match Book Chardonnay Old Head, Dunnigan Hills, 2011 To showcase the wine's rich Chardonnay character, we aged it for eight months in Old Heads - barrels that have been used for a past vintage, so there is less oak extraction. What remains is a subtle touch of oak that plays a supporting role to Chardonnay's bright fruit flavors. The result is a beautifully balanced blend of tropical fruit flavors with a background of vanillin oak. Apricot/peach aromas dominate while crisp apple and lemony citrus flavors create a lively mouthfeel. Blended for greater flavor. Alc. 13.9% by vol. Vinted and bottled by JL Giguiere Zamora, CA.
