Raley's Fine Foods Garbanzo BeansGarbanzo Beans. Beans are a natural product. Despite use of modern cleaning equipment, it is not always possible to remove all foreign material. Sort and rinse beans before cooking.Quick Soak: Rinse and sort beans in large pot. For each pound of beans (2 cups) add 6-8 cups hot water. Bring to rapid boil and boil for 2 minutes. Remove from heat. Cover and let stand 1 hour. Drain soak water and rinse beans. Overnight Soak: Rinse and sort beans in large pot. For each pound of beans (2 cups) add 6-8 cups cold water. Let stand overnight or at least 6-8 hours. Drain soak water and rinse beans. Cooking: Add 6 cups hot water to each pound of drained and rinsed beans. Simmer gently with lid tilted until desired tenderness is reached, about 1-1/2 to 2 hours. Since 1935. Excellent source of fiber. Low sodium. Warnings Beans are a natural product.
