Cajun Black Eye Peas
Short Description
Bayou Magic Black Eye Peas CajunBLACK EYE PEAS, ONION, BELL PEPPERS, SEASONINGS, SALT, FLAVORINGS, CARAMEL COLOR AND GARLIC.Sort and wash peas. Lightly brown 1/8 lb pork jowl (1/8 lb salt pork or 4 slices of bacon can be substituted) . Empty contents of seasoning pouch and cleaned peas into large pot with meat and 7 cups water. Add 1 bayou magic bay leaf. Bring to a hard boil on high heat, then lower to medium heat and cook covered until peas are tender (about 1-1/2 hours). Remove bay leaf. Serve over steamed rice or with corn bread. Great News: For 1/2 recipe adjust 1/2 of all ingredients in above . For those who like a milder dish, adjust seasoning to taste. Talk about good!
