Place 1 cup beans in a large pot with 3 cups water and 1 tsp salt. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer, cover and cook until tender, 40-45 minutes. Beans will begin to break apart as they cook. Overcooking may result in mushy beans. ~Makes 4 servings (about 2 1/4 cups) . Note: Pre-soaking, slow or pressure cooking is not recommended, unless a specific recipe requests it.Long Description
