Based on a 2,000 calories diet. *No DV defined. Directions Stove Directions: 1. Add 1 tbsp. olive oil into a medium sauce pan, and saute the grains over medium-high heat. Stir frequently until the grains are golden brown (about 2 to 3 minutes) . 2. Add 2 3/4 cups of water and seasoning. Stir and bring to a boil. 3. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for 35 to 40 minutes or until water is absorbed. 4. Remove from heat, stir and re-cover. Let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving. Microwave Directions: 1. Combine grains, seasoning, 2 3/4 cups of hot water, and 1 tbsp. of olive oil (optional) into a 2-qt microwave-safe glass bowl. Stir well. 2. Cover tightly with microwave-safe lid or plastic wrap and microwave on high for 5 minutes. 3. Reduce to medium (50%) for 30-35* minutes. Stir occasionally. Remove from microwave. Let stand covered for 5 minutes or until water is absorbed. *Microwave ovens vary. Cooking times are approximate. Adjust cooking time as needed.
