Mutti Stewed Tomatoes are meaty and consistent, covered in a creamy tomato sauce. Only the ripest tomatoes become stewed tomatoes so there are no yellow or green parts. The stewed tomatoes have about as much water as pulp and can be cooked at high temperatures, like in ovens, or cooked for long periods. They are also perfect for a few typically Italian sauces, like an amatriciana or bolognese sauce where the tomato has to be visible and well-defined. With the skin removed through steam processing, Mutti Whole Peeled Tomatoes remain wholesome and undamaged, resulting in a fleshy texture and fresh flavour.
