Directions 1 pkg. soup mix. 2 slices bacon, chopped. 1/2 medium onion, chopped. 2 cloves garlic, chopped. 4 cups water. 1 1/4 cups low sodium chicken broth. 2 2/3 cups 2% milk (or half & half) . 1. In a stock pot, sauté bacon until almost crisp. Add onion and garlic and sauté 1 minute longer. Add soup mix (except soup base packet), water and chicken broth. Cover and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 30 minutes. 2. Combine milk (or half & half) and soup base packet and stir with a whisk until well blended. Add to soup while stirring. Return to a simmer and cook for another 5 minutes. Makes approx. 8 (1 cup) servings. For a delicious seafood chowder, add 1 cup of fresh, canned or smoked seafood after 15 minutes of cook time. Stir to blend and then cook the remaining 15 minutes. Warnings Contains: milk. Made on equipment that makes products containing wheat, milk, eggs, soy and tree nuts.Long Description
