In 1915, Mario DeBenedetti began baking hearty Italian breads in Lockport, IL, using family recipes he brought over from his homeland. He called his bakery Milano, after the Italian city he remembered from his youth. Demand for his fresh-baked goods grew quickly and in 1926 the Milano Bakery moved to its current location. Today his children and grandchildren carry on the tradition in that same location, turning out delicious hearth baked breads and rolls that are available in grocery stores and restaurants throughout Chicagoland. The bakery offers breads, rolls, cakes, cookies and other sweets, made from scratch, every day. For the freshest baked goods around, you cannot do any better than Milano Bakery.
