It has long been known in many Asian countries for decades - the Lotus. Since it is particularly beautiful to look at, it is found in many gardens and also here in Europe. Lotus preferably grows in regions that have a very muddy bottom. At their roots, which can reach a considerable length of up to two meters, there are also quite large, leaf-like foliage leaves which are always covered with some water to protect them from dirt particles. What many, however, do not know is that the Lotus has a lot more to offer besides its beauty. Hidden in moist soil, the lotus root hides itself, with its enormous impact on health other ornamental plants, in the shade.
But what effect does the lotus root actually have? The healing powers of the plant are known for thousands of years. But it is only now that western school medicine is starting to discover this by itself. The plant is also used in cosmetics. This makes it the largest component in numerous anti-aging products. Its caring effect on the skin comes from substances such as fatty acid, armspavin, linoleic acid, phosphorus, as well as albumen, which are not present in the root, but in the flowers of the plant in large quantities. However, the lotus root is still richer in positive effects on the human body. Thanks to its multitude of active ingredients, it can be used in a wide range of medical fields. Eating lotus comes with many benefits. For example; the metabolism is cranked, the cholesterol levels are lowered and self-healing processes in the body is activated. In addition, positive effects on the state of mind have also been observed. The main areas of application are therefore also broadly diversified. For example, it is also used for sleep and blood circulation problems, as well as for kidneys or menstrual problems. The high potassium content of the root ensures that it dilates the blood vessels and so the blood circulation is better. Not only cholesterol can be degraded much more easily.
