Moth beans (Vigna aconitifolia) is a type of legume, which is cultivated in arid and semi-arid regions of India. It is also commonly known as matki, dew bean, Turkish gram or mat bean. The crop is drought resistant, which helps prevent the soil against erosion. It is planted as a cover crop and forages in Indian and Pakistan regions. It is also cultivated in some parts of Thailand, Australia, and the United States. The crop can be planted in all kinds of soil but preferably the sandy soil.
