  • 1 tsp salt

  • 1 cup vegetable oil

  • 2 tbsp red food coloring
  • 1 tsp white vinegar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the cream cheese frosting:

  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking soda, and salt.

  3. In a separate mixing bowl, beat together the eggs, vegetable oil, buttermilk, food coloring, vinegar, and vanilla extract until well combined.
